THIS WEEK'S SAY:
11/20/2017 "Let the cooks do the cooking" Uh-huh! Don't ask someone's whose never stuffed the bird before ta do it! Just let us handle our part...the eating! Here's why. Iffin I was asked to stuff the bird, I'd do it through the beak. Nuff said.
11/13/2017 "Don't be suspicious" Cautious, careful and watchful are good but suspicion is another matter. Specially when you don't know the whole story and you're standing in judgement of someone or something. Some people are suspicious by nature. Skeptical about just about everything. The word describes them well. Wary and leery two more for the assignment. So why are they like that? Again lot's of reasons but you might be surprised to learn suspicion buddies up with things like a non-trusting nature and the ever dreaded 4 letter word FEAR. In fact suspicion, kin to disbelief has been known to overstep boundaries and travel into into Paranoia. Did you know that a truly loving heart is always ready to believe the best of everyone? It's always believing and hoping and well, go read verse 7 of I Corinthians 13. And read it in several different versions. You'll get the point. It's an important point because you don't want the pointing to go to you because you're suspiciously pointing out things you don't know are for real.
11/6/2017 "Honor the Honorable" Romans 12:10 says it this-a-way; "Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another". Placing them before yourself when that's what's called for. Not in a worshipful sort of way but in a respectful showing respect way.
10/30/2017 "This above all; to thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day. Thou canst not then be false to any man". Yupper Shakespeare sayed it quite well! I'm sure he must have been a distant relations with They sayers somewhere in his linage. And what he had to say was excellent. Goes right along with being truthful with yourself, facing yourself and knowing whats really on the inside is good, pure and you have nothing to hide. If what's in there is true and truthful you won't have to be false with anyone else and specially yer own self! You'll be able to look yourself right in the eyes without any trace of anything unpleasant and be happy with yer own self!! Honesty...It's a right, righteous, right on, feel good and you will be feeling good because you can be true to yourself !
10/23/2017 "Be patient" I know...easier said than done when yer a itchin real bad fer somethin! Waiting isn't easy specially when you know there's limited time, resources and other people are waiting for you and you have to depend upon someone else to move.It would all be so easy if you could just get the job done on your own. James 1:4 advises us wisely "Let patience have her perfect work that you may be perfect and entire wanting nothing". Wow.. there's a challenge when you're in a hurry and you just don't know how long you'll have to wait. However, waiting on what you have no control over and trusting God to move on your behalf and get the job done is a sign of faith and maturity and perhaps, not saying it's always the case, but it could be that's one of the reasons you're in that wait period. God Himself may be trying, testing and perfecting your patience.
10/16/2017 "Don't be argumentative just convinced you're right". Are you persuaded of your convictions or just fighting to keep your way of thinking even though you highly suspect you may be wrong? If you're not fully persuaded in your own mind like Romans 14: talks about then you'll naturally become argumentative just trying to protect yourself and if yourself is not really right what's the fight really all about? Think about it... It's not about what's right!
10/9/2017 "Life is full of problems so...when you meet up with em make sure you arrange a meeting with God" Yupper! Psalm 46:1 tells us God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help in trouble". Ever present forever and ever. He' will be right there on scene when you need Him if you want Him to be. He's the One who will protect you and give you strength to carry onward when you need to keep on going on! Don't try to tough it out alone! All you have to do is call out to Him and He will be there for you. Call out from your heart and even if you don't know what to say, He knows your heart!
10/2/2017 "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts" It's always amazing to me how many scriptures I find that are directly tied to the heart! They' cover a wide range of subject matter including the mind soul and spirit. Yupper... the all of you innards and as my little Hortense would say all the way to the out-turds"! Ya know, yet outwards.Make sure yer heart is covered and ruled by that peace that comes from God!
9/25/2017 "Be encouraged"! Yupper!!! No matter how difficult or even hopeless things may seem you can still be encouraged! In the 43rd book of Isiah God tells us even when we walk through the fire, He will be with us...WHEW!!!! Cuz I be troubled to go it alone iffin I had to walk through fire! I can encourage myself with that knowledge and more if I choose to dig into the Word of God and remind myself of all the wonderful promises He's pledged! There are many places in the Bible where God expresses His desires for us to be encouraged or take courage! Interesting that that word "courage" is found within the word encouraged. Love Joshua 1:9 ; "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid neither be you dismayed for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go"! LOVE IT!
9/18/2017 "Shield your noggin with the Word of God" Being deceived, fooled, tricked, having the wool pulled over your eyes, led to be slippin on unknown slippery slopes, being made to believe something that just is not so by someone who wants to take personal advantage of you, being hoodwinked, swindled, hoaxed, duped, beguiled, double crossed, fooled and outwitted is the evil work of those who work the evil works of darkness . Ya don't wanna do it to anyone else and you don't want it done ta yer ownself so follow after Verses 10 through 17 from the book of Ephesians "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places . Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one . And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
9/11/2017 Been a pondering over a scripture Proverbs 18:9 "He that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster". That's the King James but other translations make the lazy kin to "destroyers" even brotherly to "the master of destruction" EWE! Pretty serious stuff to be that closely linked to the darkest of inhuman evil...That ole snake in the grass;Beelzebub. Don't let that creep sneak up on your heels , nip you with his forked tongue and cripple your walk! Get busy with what you should be busy with! Seek the living God and He will direct your steps by through the Holy Spirit! All Glory and Honor and Praise to God who will keep you busy with what you should be busy with!!! You won't be wasting time, efforts or productivity so GET A MOVIN CHOSEN OF GOD!
9/4/2017 " If you don't do your part don't blame God" That's a quote from Billy Sunday and a good one at that. Recently I heard a poor soul blaming God for all their troubles which by the way are many. It's obvious by the negative they constantly spew that their spewing and blaming God for everything is making things worse for them. The devil loves it when people do that because it turns them away from the very one who can and wants to help. I feel deep sorrow for those who don't recognize God is there to help if you cry out to Him as the scriptures guide. But if you continue blaming God for the things that should be attributed to self-made complications because you have not followed Him as directed or you don't assign the credit to the devil which is due him, you'll just keep on making things harder than they have to be. Lot's of people create their own storms and then complain when the rain comes. They blame the clouds... You don't have to be one of these. Wise up loved ones. Seek God's ways through the scriptures and learn to trust Him rather than turning Him away. God's Word will provide what you need to know to make your way out of troubles. Remember Proverbs 19:3 "The foolish one perverts their way and then frets against the Lord" Become wise;Let the blame lie where it really should and trust God your "very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1
8/21/2017 "Dare to live by God's principles and stand for God's truths"! More easily said than done I'm well aware. There will always be somebody who being ignorant of the Word of God or just chooses not to believe Him, will side with personal opinion, attack you for speaking truth and misjudge what they don't understand you did or said. They will never ask for further clarity just instantly jump down your throat assuming you said or did something because it's the reason they would have done or said the thing. No patience with anyone else, no maturity and really poor communicators because the focus is not God or anyone else just selfish self-focus. You can't reason with them because they won't be objective, listen to anyone else and they live by their own standards; not Gods. After alienating everyone because they're easily offended, easily angered by those who do not instantly meet their expectations and what displeases them, self-defensive and offensive to others they'll end up destroying themselves. If we love them we'll stand our ground continue to live by God's principles and stand for His truths in the prayerful hopes they'll come out of the darkness into the light of Christ and be transformed from the miseries that consume and trouble them and live much more peaceably, happy and free from all the troubles they cause themselves.Perhaps one day they'll even be wise enough to Thank God you opposed them from opposing themselves and others. Your standing for God's truths and principles just might be what finally shakes them from their bondages. Be the sons and daughters of your Father God and continue to love them in prayerful hopefulness whether they love receive or listen to you or not .
814/2017 "Try to make sense of it all" OK I hear ya.Some things no matter how hard you try seem to make no sense at all; No rhyme:No reason. But in the long and short of it all we must admit we usually don't see the whole picture and that's why we just can't reason it. One thing's certain: When we can't get what's going on... God does. He may not always see fit to share the details. We might be on a need to know basis or it's just not time to figure it out or other things must factor in before we even get the slightest clue but another thing is certain and that is; If we seek God on these matters He will share what ever we need to know when we need to know it.
8/7/2017 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man" Psalm 118:8. So true, so true! Especially if a man or womankind...in short, mere mortal human has proven themselves unworthy of trust. Should be pretty easy for most of us to discern when someone is just plain not faithful to others or the Word of God. Usually shows up in their character sooner or later. Trouble with most of us is we tend to ignore all the little nudges and indications that something is off and we like a person so we give them trust that is not supposed to be assigned to them. Sooner or later we learn that what they do they will do not only to us but if given opportunity to others as well and we don't want that on our account; so...walk cautiously with whom you trust and don't trust them with what should be trustworthy. Pay strict attention to all the signs along the way and don't pay a price you don't want to pay or cause others to stumble into paying too neither either because you've trusted someone who is untrustworthy! Love em in spite of themselves but be careful with your trust! Trust God and whom He wants you to put trust in
7/31/2017 "Humble yourself when you're wrong" Humility; It's one of the finer qualities a human can possess. It's a toughie but when you've been wrong don't just "so long" away from your error. Be humble enough to admit your wrong and make it right and you'll be alright instead of carrying a wrong. Remember James 4:6 "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble". We can all use God's grace!Give a read and heed to Luke 14:11 too! He that exalts himself shall be abased and he that humbles himself shall be exalted".
7/24/2017 "Be Generous"! It's wonderful when someone BLESSES you but "it's more blessed to give than receive". The great Apostle Paul said that in Acts 20:35 quoting Jesus. And when you have opportunity to give... do it with great joy; knowing that you have followed after the very heart of God and the example of Paul and Christ Himself! You'll be BLESSED and you'll be a blessing!
7/17/2017 "Watch your mouth"! That's right! Keep a diligent watch over what rolls over your tongue and comes out from between your lips!!! Why you ask? Well there are many reasons but mostly Matthew 15:18 ...and I quote " The things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart and defile the man". If what is coming out of your mouth is not pure clean good communication it's just plain not healthy for YOU! The scriptures go on to tell us the heart is capable of "evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, thievery, false witness", and if you're not keeping a watch on your heart you're not watching whats in your heart too neither! You'll fall into the trap of a mouth that's spewing unfortunate destruction upon yourself if yer not a watchin. Watch it I say; Watch your mouth and guard your heart!
710/2017: "We're still pondering upon Matthew 7 but we're moving on to verse 3 which says " And why are you beholding the mote that is in your brother's eye but consider not the beam that is in your own eye"? Maybe there was a good reason why they did what they did but you couldn't see past what your motives might have been for doing the same thing. That's a beam in the eyeball of perception perceived in the wrong way... but and however the real insight blocking your view has much more to do with what's in your heart. You might have asked why the other person did what they did and gotten a true perspective on the issues at hand. Next time don't act and react before you ask them to explain their reasons. You might save yourself a lot of heartache and make right what could turn out all wrong.
7/3/2017 : "Never ever ever assume"! Most people judge situations because either they can't reason why someone else did something or they judge by the standards by which they would have done something which can make them entirely WRONG! "Judge not that you be not judged "That's from Matthew 7:1 & 2. The scriptures in this passage go on to say "For with what judgement you judge, you shall be judged and with what measure you mete it shall be measured to you again". There's something to think about!
6/26/2017 : "It's not over till it's over! However, when it is... give it a rest"! Some things are over, done with, finished, closed, completed, gone, concluded, ended, settled, ancient history and you're still beating the dead horse. Careful!!! You just might wakie wakie the dead and then what? Get over it or it could get over you! Remember Philippians 4:13 and take it into your spirit "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me". In the light of that scripture determine to spend your time with life-giving worthy causes and give up spending your time on life consuming negatives!
6/19/2017 : "How did that happen"? Good question and we don't always have the answer because we're simply just not privy to all the details that formed the circumstances that created the happening. Whoops; I'm sounding a bit like Hortense. Not that that's a bad thing, but I digress. Life can be puzzling and we just stand back and wonder at some things???? Proverbs 24:3 & 4 speak to us" Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established; The room are filled with all precious and plesant riches". So then perhaps if you're in wonderment about how something happened and you seek God He will have the answers for you, you'll understand more of what's happening, gain more wisdom and everything will turn out pleasantly to serve filling your rooms with riches untold and full of glory. If God's in the mix it's meant to bring you to a greater place of fulfillment!
6/12/2017 : "You're never ever ever too old to be useful to God" Yupper! Psalm 92:14 says it all! " They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing" It's the truth folks!! Even in the golden oldie years the one that follows after God will still be bringing forth fruitful works, serving others and you'll notice they might have a little pleasingly plump protrusion round the middle but, this fat and flourishing means they will still be loaded with an abundance of wonderful healthy things coming from the inside and flowing to the outside to bless others and themselves because they are a blessing. Yupper! Our elders are treasures of good fruit production!
6/5/2017 : "Don't let time get away from you" I could quote another "They Say"here; which is.. "time flies" Doesn't mean it actually has wings to "flew the coop" but it does seem to travel onward quickly and if you don't make the best of the time you have you won't have the time you want to make the best of it. Now that I'm in my 80's seems there's a number of things I look back on and wish I had take the time to accomplish and now I'm just no longer able to accomplish some of those things because there was a window of opportunity that is no longer available...so...."Don't let time get away from you" So dear Lord "Teach us to number our days so that we may apply our hearts to wisdom".
5/29/2017 : "Bow you heart and head in reverence towards all of our United States Veterans and and give thanks for each and every one of them! Then bend a knee or both in reverence and thankfulness towards heaven to God who touched their hearts to serve you and give of themselves for your freedoms! They lived John 15:13 "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. They all did that not knowing where they might be sent, what they might have to face and if or not they might ever make it home. They laid down their lives in service for you and for me! THANKS BE TO THEM ALL AND GOD!
5/21/2017 : "Be a do-gooder"! And do good every chance you get! It's missed opportunity iffin ya don't do good when ya can. "Withhold NOT good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it". That's the word of the Lord from Proverbs 3:27 and it should be taken seriously! You might have to go a bit or even quite a bit our of your way to do good but I'm a tellin ya there's hidden rewards! Not only will you be blessing someone else but sometimes it's an opportunity straight from God Himself presenting itself and you'll be rewarded not only in this life but the next too! If your heart is right you'll always want to do whats in the power of your hand to do and you'll always be a blessing and get blessed yer own fine self! In being a blessing and doing what you can you can never go wrong! But if you can do it and don't. you may never know what you've missed!
5/15/2017 : "Never start a war...but finish it if you can" Romans 12:18 tells us "If it is possible as much as lies in you, live peaceable with all men". Sometimes because peaceable is not in some men's hearts and spirits all they want to do is be at war with everyone and everything and it's not possible to be at peace with them. In that case if you can end the war as quick as you can. You can be the peaceable restorer! How you ask? Well you'll have to seek God personally on that one!And be sure you do!
5/8/2017 : "Know what you're getting yourself into and count the cost" Remember Luke 14:28 tells us if we're intending to build something we've got to count the cost first". Anything you're involved in requires summing up if you've got what it takes and if you don't, but you know you're supposed to do it, then go ahead and trust The Lord to build in you what it will take and supply what it will take! Do get yourself involved in anything shady, underhanded or affiliate yourself with anyone of poor character cuz that will cost you personally and perhaps others as well; check with The Lord first and be sure you're rightly aligned. It's all about recognizing and paying the cost you're responsible for and letting The Lord take care of the rest.
5/1/2017 : "SAY ON"! BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING WELL WORTH SAYING" Some people waste words with hatred and untruths. Don't be one of them!!! Speak with a soft tongue and don't cut people up with nasty words. Nasty words have a way of turning on people and churning their insides out. They end up hurting the sayers of the bad verbages much more than the ones they intended to afflict with their speech. So go ahead and speak and say on and on but only wisely, rightly and sweetly. Proverbs 16:24 "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones". We're not just talkin about the hearers here, but the speakers too. Get a sweet soul and healthy bones.
4/24/2017 : "Life is full of pressure" Make sure when you have to release it you do it before the Lord and not somewhere the pressure you're releasing will be detrimental to others. Sometimes when pressure is released it blows like a mighty wind and can blow others away. I know these things...I'm experienced. I once had some pressure that found a way of escape in the confinements of an elevator; some of you may remember that. It wasn't friendly; a lady fainted before the doors could open and Hortense had to hand out close pins to all bystanders. Embarrassing, but anyway, you get the drift and hopefully others won't if you get privately before the Lord and release the pressure. He can take it.
4/17/2017 : "CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF CHRIST" God demonstrated His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners He died for us" . No love can compare! He came to earth with one love in mind...you and me! We celebrate not only His birth but His whole life, death burial and resurrection. Thank you Father God for your plan for us! Thank you Jesus for the life you lived and all you gave for us.
4/10/2017 : "Never say Never" Unless you never! But, you really can't never because you're human and not divine. The Lords the only One who can really say NEVER and mean it! His Word NEVER FAILS and when He says never it means NEVER EVER!
4/3/2017 : "Better late than never" Not so! Some things are better left in the never category!Like "never tire of doing what is good". II Thessalonians 3:13. Don't do it late ...Don't not do it never. Always be on time when it come to doing good!
3/27/2017 : "I'm back" Not that I've been anywhere in particular but anyway I'm back on the scene. Been a missin me haven't cha? Course ya have that's why I left for a bit. Thanks to those of you who wrote and let me know how much you missed me and my "They Says" You know what "They Say"..."It's an honor to be appreciated".
3/20/2017 : "Silence is golden"
3/13/2017 : "Resting in the Lord on my vacation. My say of the week "You rest in the Lord too even if you're not on vacation that rest can become a vacation moment"!
3/6/2017 : "Take a vacation and speak as little as possible! Just snooze in the sun and read your Bible. Enjoy the Lord in the quiet of rest and relaxation!
2/27/2017 : "Look at all sides of the matter carefully before you make up your mind"! You've heard it said the sun rises in the east, however the Bible tells us the earth is a sphere. We know this by Isaiah 40:22 which says; It is He that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers" Round as round can be the sun neither rises nor sets but rather the round earth itself rotates. So even though we use these expressions of the sun rising and setting it isn't really so. What does this suggest to us? It's simple...We have ways of thinking about and referring to things that are not accurate, authentic or factual. If we want facts we've got the responsibility to look carefully at all sides the matter before we're found looking at only a narrow view that will restrict our thinking and actually possibly make it inaccurate, non-factual and unauthentic.
2/20/2017 : "The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law" So says I Corinthians 15:56. "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin". So says Romans 3:20. All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God Romans 3:23. So how can we be justified and free from sin? Romans 3:24 through 26 tells us the rest: Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.BELIEVE!
2/13/2017 : "Depart from evil.Do good and pursue it". Psalm 34:14. The Good Book instructs us to be do-gooders! That's easy when there's nothing unclean, unrighteous or evil on the inside. When you're clean, righteous and good on the inside you'll look to do good. Never ever would you want to do anything to hurt or destroy your fellow humans! Think about what you're doing and if it is what comes from a good or an evil heart.
2/6/2017 : "Let noting be done through strife or vain glory; But in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every men also on the things of others". That there's from Philippians 2:3 &4. It's the caring, unselfish love attitude of Christ likeness I pray we all can have in our hearts because everybody is special, important and it's never ever just all about us.
1/30/2017 : "Say nothing" Sometimes just not commenting will be you're best way to express what is convenient! Raise an eyebrow, stare into a face and let the ridiculous comment that just exited someone else s mouth smack them right back in the gray matter. Give them time to mull over what they just said. Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding". Proverbs17:28
1/23/2017: "Don't be fearful" FEAR shows itself in profound heart, mind and character demonstrations : "Fight Everything And FAIL" The opposite of fear LOVE also shows itself in profound heart, mind and character demonstrations: Love Others Value Everyone!
1/16/2017 : "Make the most of each and every day"! Every day we have decisions to make. They will always produce something either for or against LOVE. At the end of the day we want to be able to say we made the most of the day and it all worked out favorably because ALL OF MY DOINGS WERE DONE IN LOVE! My actions showed God, myself, and others that I made the choices that pleased God and displayed a character and spirit that was FULL OF LOVE! I'm thinking of a blessed example of LOVE today;DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. This great man whom I, and we all should honor, put forth the example we should all pattern ourselves after!!! He was LOVE!Be like him! Follow Dr. Kings example and you'll have made the best of your day and a better day for others!
1/9/2017 : "BE PEACE! BE LOVE! BE FREE ON THE INSIDE"! Been thinking sadly about all the violence all over our world and how awful some people are on the inside. They must feel it when hatred and rage rises up from their hearts, churns in their minds, plagues their spirits and stains their souls. It must be an awful feeling for them to carry that in their innards and even more awful for them to act it out and become part of hate crimes. Come; let us reason together; If you're full of hate, or feeding hatred with what irritates you, you're icky on the inside too; just like those acting out despicable hate crimes. That makes you, no matter how small a part your playing, a huge part of the world problem. Haven't you stopped to think that what you do could make you the person responsible to finally push someone over the edge to commit a hate crime? Isn't that aiding and abetting? There's no middle ground! Either we're part of the problem, keeping what is wrong going, or we're part of the solution. Wouldn't you rather be part of the solution; feel good on the inside and do good? Dear precious souls, consider what you do in the light of eternity. Are you even a small part of feeding the fuel of negative icky on the inside, and even by the little things you do encouraging those who choose to be icky on the inside? Or are you a blessed peacemaker like Dr. Martin Luther King and other WONDERFUL gentle, peace loving, peace promoting, honorable souls like him? OK you're not getting you way, but which of us is? There are a LOT of things I'd like changed but I'll look to Jesus the author and finisher of my faith to take care of them, laying my troubled heart at the foot of the cross and trusting Him with it all. Maybe some of us don't see God working behind the scene or perhaps we might consider we really don't see the whole picture like He does, so some things don't make sense to us yet. Certainly we have not yet seen the end of all matters yet either. I would rather pray and trust God to intervene for me and try my best to follow His will and do good rather than to try changing things on my own, apart from God and His ways and in the interim be contributing to violating God's love. I would rather endevour to be part of a peace process loving as much as is possible, praying for even my enemies, building bridges, preferably instead of trying to win one over on them, punish or hurt them and in doing so displease God, show Him distrust and hurt Him. Beloveds, let us mature unto the pure love of Christ, trusting His hand of divine intervention when needed. God always avenges His elect and does what is right, righteous and Holy. We might have to wait some things out, but let's not make ourselves sick on the inside while we're waiting on God and be found responsible for promoting what is against His truths. Do not be concerned about what will happen tomorrow as much as you are about your own soul and what is coming out of your heart. If you give it all to God to take care of...He will take care of it. Remember, He gave us free will and He will let us exercise it and not intervene as long as he sees we're trying to take the work out of His hands and do it on our own. "From whence come wars and fighting among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members"? James 4:1. There it is...ickkies on the inside.Don't let it take up permanent residence, stick inside of you and make you and others sick! Get well IN CHRIST. Trust God and do not fear! for he has said in Isaiah 41:10 "Fear you not for I am with you: Be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness". So folks; Be BLESSED BY GOD because you've been found by Him to be a BLESSING!
1/2/2017 : "Don't get stuck in the past! leave what is old and unfruitful behind and move towards bigger and better and more wonderful things than you have ever experienced before! Here's my "ALL TOGETHER NOW" moving personally and as a unit in the body of Christ; One mind, soul, spirit and body, borrowed from the Scriptures say; " Dear brother and sister saints, let's count not ourselves to have apprehended; but this one thing let us do, forgetting those things which are behind let us reach forth unto those things which are before us and press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"!!! Philippians 3:13
12/26/2016 : "Make the most of your New Year and have the Happiest one EVER; Get a life! A new life IN CHRIST"! You can do that by being the best, kindest, finest exemplary person that everyone else will view and say; "That person is the finest example of Christ I have ever seen; I want to be just like them because they are just like Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior! As much as is possible be at peace with all men. Be kind, forgiving, loving and gentle, even as Christ was! Focus on things above and not below. UH-HUH!!!! Honor Christ by bringing Love and Truth just like Him. Imitation after all is the highest height and most sincere form of flattery and God deserves all the Glory, all the Honor and all the Praise! Our Lord likes it , a lot, when we're trying to conform to His image! It's one of the best ways to say "I'm doing my best to follow the instructions in your Holy Bible instructions. I'm paying you a compliment by copying you because YOU are the VERY BEST! Yes folks... "Let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven" Matthew 5:16. Remember that same chapter of Matthew declares you as the "salt of the earth" and says also "You are the light of the world"! So...get saltier, turn on the Christ light brighter, don't loose your flavor nor let your light grow dim by concentrating on other matters! Put your mind on Christ and take it from the heart of an original "They Sayer" You do know what they say... Well this Dr. Thaddeus T. They is "They Saying ; Take the focus off yourself and the troubles of this world! I'm intent on this! Just look at me ... Those birdies land on me all the time and leave their leavings, but I'm clinging to the Word of God, The Living Christ and the hope that is IN HIM! I just wipe it all off and walk away. You won't find hope anywhere else outside of Christ, cept maybe temporarily and you can't have your mind occupied by two things at the same time so think and focus completely and confidently on Heavenly things and the Light In the EVERLASTING Christ! I guarantee you'll have a Happier new Year! Show the world the Light of Christ shines in you and you're not carrying any darkness. Give your burdens to the Lord. Lay them at His feet, leave them there and walk away with more of Christ Tread the happy pathway on solid ground found in Jesus Christ and let His brilliance shine brilliantly!!! unrestricted!!! through you!!!!! brighter than ever before"!!!!!!! This is my prayer for YOU! "Make the most of your New Year and have the Happiest one EVER; Get a life! A new life IN CHRIST"!
12/19/2016 : "HAVE YOURSELF A VERY MERRY CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!MAKE IT LAST YOUR WHOLE LIFETIME!!!
12/12/2016 : "Be a good do gooder " Never ever give up on being a do gooder in Jesus Name! Galatians 6:9 says "Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not". It's easy to faint specially when you're doing good and getting creamed for it! But...think of the eternal rewards not only for another but also for yourself! There's that crown of righteousness and so much more stored up for us in heaven! Yet, the greatest reward will be for those for whom we have been a do gooder because we have done it for the sake of the kingdom of God and in the Name of Jesus!"Be a good do gooder" with a pure heart expecting nothing in return because it could mean an eternal soul's destination! But do know ... there are rewards!
12/4/2016 : "Have patience". Easy for anyone whose not waiting to say but think about it. If you're waiting usually you have no choice but to wait. Like you're in line at the store check out and there's a whole line of people in front of you ; each with their carts full and what's more... You're in the only open line and your late for an appointment. OK, Hum... pray, strike up a conversation with another person in line, or twiddle your thumbs and patiently wait it out. Perhaps someone in front of you will notice all you have is a loaf of bread and let you skip to the head of the line, or suddenly another cashier could be called up front to open another register. Anything could happen while you're patiently waiting. You never ever know... You could be the 1millionth customer and win a years groceries free or well, who knows what could happen? Look at it as an adventure holding you in uncertain suspense that could end up better than ever expected. The main thing is to remain patient with the right attitude and happy expectations!!! So just whistle a happy tune and wait it out patiently.
11/28/2016: "Never attribute malice to that which can be explained by true stupidity"! Malice is the intention to do evil and ill will. It's full of anger, wrath and all sorts of nasty actions. Noted by the efforts of those who don't think things through reasonably as they pursue what is not only a waste of time, sometimes money and most times recruiting the equally as dim witted, but also by continuing wrongful acts that are intended to hurt others for their own selfish gain. "Put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth". This verse from Colossians 3:8 is just one of the many wise warnings to keep one from two dangerous and hurtful to yourself and others things that are tied together; malice and stupidity!
11/21/2016: "Let it go"!Sometimes we're holding on to things that we really should let go of for our own good. Like hatred, vengeance, a feisty quarrelsome, antagonistic spirit that picks fights, and all it's all accompanied by all sorts of other bad attitudes. Well ya might ruffle a few feathers and certainly won't win anyone over to your side with that mean-spirited countenance! But another point I want to point out today is that while you think what other people are doing is making you sick, you're only kidding yourself! YOU'RE MAKING YOURSELF SICK! Holding and spewing all that negative is sicking to your spirit and you're being turned over to the tormentors as you keep it going and hold on to it all. Colossians 3:15 encourages us; Let the peace of God rule in your heart! Let the negative go and focus on the good and things above and not below.
11/14/2016: "Time flies"! Make the best of your moments because sooner or later you won't have any anymore. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven. So if you're under heaven and seeking heavenly purposes you'll be seeking God for His times for your seasons of life! Don't let time that flies by swiftly anyway, fly by you without fulfilling God's purposes for your season of life!
11/7/2016: "Look before you leap"!You can NEVER be overly cautious when you're about to jump into something that can very possibly shape and change your life and the lives of others. The only way you can make a right decision is to make sure you're not being gullible! Don't let someone or anyone whose nice to your face and willing to tell you what you want to hear and what they think will sway you. They'll stand behind you with evil intent endeavoring to win you over just so they can push you off the cliff to further their own agendas. Remember, character flaws are something not a one of us doesn't have , but they are not the same thing as someone who has outright ongoing proven not changing wrong character actions. It's one thing if someone did something years ago that was wrong but a whole nother story to see someone who has had a constant history and is continuing to do the same wrong things over and over again and again because it is their core nature. Don't stand anywhere close to that person with the proven poor character history that just does not change...They'll push you quick as a wink right over the cliff without so much as a care in their conscience and probably push a whole mass of other people over too. "Look before you leap"!
10/31/2016: "Liar liar pants on fire"! The taunt has often been used with reference to political scenarios as of late. Trusted by some and not at all by others, statements rate from "absolutely true, somewhat true, barely true, all the way to totally untrue". With newspapers and television reporters spewing personal agendas and oft times on the wrong side, how can we correctly discern what truthful headline news should be ? What do we believe and how do we judge lies and a liar verses what is right and who is truthful and true? Here's a few ways we can judge, because usually you won't actually see smoke or flames coming from someone's pants. A basically honest person may make some errors, but they won't have the same manifestations of an outright liar. Liars may break eye contact, however they may be so good at lying they will glare directly into your eyes as they deceive not only others but also themselves. They never really answer questions but divert the issues with pointing at someone or something else. They are insistent they've done nothing wrong, utilizing a lot of qualifying phrases like "I never, to the best of my knowledge " or they simply constantly plead the 5th. Liars "Phony smile" a lot when they've just been confronted with their untruths, right before they say "Look" and cause your attentions to be directed away from themselves and on someone else. I leave you with II Timothy 3:13 "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived". It's really quite obvious when someone is lying because they create a history for themselves. They seldom if ever DO what they say. Their pants may not actually catch live fire in this life but we all have the next to think about.
10/24/2016: "Right is right and wrong is wrong"!Deep inside God has given us a conscience. It's that inward guide that produces a deep inside feeling that leads each of us to do what we do. Sometimes we pay attention to our conscience and sometimes we don't. Many times, primarily if we are people of prayer, and we're listening, we will be urged by the still small voice of the Lord available to our conscience pointing the way to go. Sadly, we can ignore and squelch that guidance with an insistence to do what is wrong. At times that voice is no longer available to us because we totally rebel against it and outright choose the wrong way for selfish or other self-centered reasons. Be careful folks...Yes, be full of care not to ignore your conscience and the voice of the Lord when they are telling you to do right. If you do you may loose the sense of right verses wrong altogether and pay some heavy consequences. If you're really interested in hearing God's voice you might want to read I Kings 19:11-13. They share a Bible principle truth which is; Danger and wrong are usually backed up by loud and often violent threatening actions, in which God is NOT present. These in your face attention grabbers are trying to persuade you to pay attention to them rather than God, loose your peace and go the wrong way; but if you're listening and desiring what is right, the gentle voice of the Lord will be found in a place of still and safety inwardly and outwardly and guide you righteously along your way. Listen for the still small voice of the Lord.
10/17/2016: "Silence is golden"!!! At times a hush on the lips and non-movement of the tongue is priceless! Sometimes you must keep your thoughts to yourself. It's just plain wisdom to zip your lips;however, there are also times to speak your mind. The key is to have the wisdom when to speak and when not to speak. A fine rule of tongue comes to us from James 1:19 "Let every one be swift to hear, slow to speak".
10/10/2016: "You never know until you try"!!! Lots and lots and bunches of folks never try anything new because they're afraid. Of course there are other reasons people don't try; They might not have time or whatever, however, if you're not trying because your afraid think about this: You maybe should be afraid not to try! Pray first of course, consult the Most High and Holy One and be sure what your about to try is right and right on in His eyes and if it is and it's all in His plan...TRY and try again if need be until you reach success! God will always be there rooting for you; ready willing and able to help! So TRY!
10/3/2016: "Be blessed and be a blessing even to those who are not so nice and even meanies to you"! Yup... some people are just not nice! They're just downright mean and unpleasant but that doesn't mean you have to be like them rather be a blessed extension of the Beatitudes found in Matthew chapter 5 and fulfill what Jesus asked of you in verse 44! He said" I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" That's what makes you perfect children of your Father in heaven. You're not a nasty but a goodie saint who blesses and sometimes are even used of your Heavenly Father to bring the nasties to being goodies too!
9/26/2016: " Be Love ...Be Truth" Nuff said!
9/19/2016: " Age is just a number" True, depending upon what you're looking at concerning your age. If you're looking to learn and overcome mistakes, age can sometimes be more than just a number. I totally agree with Job 12:2 "With the ancient is wisdom and in length of days understanding". Not to worry if you're serving the Lord and yer not a gettin it yet youngins. God is faithful to perfect everything that concerns you if ya hang in there with Him! Sooner or later ya won't be roundin the same ole mountains again and again. God knows when to end the trip and He will be there for you at precisely the right time to fill you with both wisdom and understanding!
912/2016: "What were you thinking?" A common "They say" Usually associated with someone having made a blunder. The question arises often when things don't go as planned and it's obvious someone just did not think things through . Remedy:Philippians 4:8" Finally brethren whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things". These whatsoever things come through keeping your mind stayed upon the Word of God. Keep the gray matter churning on the Word of God and you're less likely to make a choice where someone might ask you; What were you thinking?"
9/5/2016: "Don't be nosy"!!! Does that mean not to have a big nose? Certainly not! Just look at the fine figure of large appendage in the middle of my face! Impressive isn't it! What not being nosy does mean is exactly what I Timothy 5:13 communicates. Don't be a busybody! Don't stick your nose in where it doesn't belong! Don't be too inquisitive about matters that are someone else's business but not yours! Don't waste yours or God's time by sticking your snout into anything that doesn't concern you! If you do it could end up being a lot more troubling than you might suspect. Use your nose to sniff out worthy things that will make your time profitable for you and others!
8/29/2016: "Don't try to be something or someone you're not". Have you ever been with someone whose trying to be something or someone they're not called of God to be? They're putting on a display of good works and saying and doing all sorts of things that get themselves attention, but it's not really who and what they are intended to be.Dead works! Remember Romans 12:2 which says ;"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God". Be sure and read what comes before the and! And be sure and be what God has called and created you to be...The specially created , no one else like you, you that you were intended to be. Be yourself and press into the life giving works of God He intended for you to do. The world needs you to be who you were intended by God to be.
8/22/2016: "Say it LOUD! Say it CLEAR! But say it only if it's the truth!" Untruthers are dangerous people to others as well as to themselves so....Before you say it be sure you can say it with confidence! Let truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth lay the foundation and that it is totally in the saying of whatever it is you're saying. Remember folks; sooner or later the works of darkness, of which untruths are part, are always uncovered. If you have untruthed be sure it's taken care of sooner than later. Fess up! Tell the truth! Be sure you're a willing and cooperative party who will help uncover untruth and reveal pure truth! And by the Way, the Truth and the Life that is in Christ; BE TRUTH!
8/15/2016: "Life is precious"!Ya know ole George Washington said; and I quote: “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” Job 14:5 says "A person's days are determined; you (God) have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed". God is the the author and giver of life and He has a plan for each of us to fulfill in the days He has planned to give to us. He alone has the right to take life as he alone has given it. Each and every life has purpose at every stage, is precious in His eyes and should be to us as well. Be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these, if your life is precious to yourself and others.
8/8/2016: "Check the foundation" What are you building? And by and the by and way, what are you building upon and how exactly are you going about building what you're building? Is you foundation upon which everything rests solid, proven and built with sound healthy materials? You know what we "Theys Say" and as you know it's always tied to scripture truths, so... I say to you as the Lord God has said in : Isaiah 28:8 "Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold I lay in Zion for a sure foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste". Make no haste to build upon the foundations of the true and living God, Jesus Christ and your foundations no matter what you're building will be right, righteous, Holy and sure!
8/1/2016: Here I am again and of course my favorite They Says are always found in scripture so here's another good one for ya! Have faith in God" Mark 11:22. I say;"Faith is not the assurance that every little thing in life will go as planned but it is the assurance that no matter what everything will be OK because you know God is always there watching over and loving you and has your best interests at hand. Faith in God is a living demonstration proving you know He is in control and with that faith He has the freedom to move in your life freely as you consult, depend upon, obey and trust in Him. Oh how I love the true and living God!
7/25/2016: Another day, another "They Say" and what the They's have to say today is "Learn from the past" The past passes on and sometimes we're thankful for that but if the past is being kept alive, it becomes present and continues on. Sometimes that's a good thing but many times the past, especially if it should have been buried a long time ago because it's dead and useless becomes an unhealthy, unnecessary irritant that plagues you wherein you dwell. Ask the Good Lord and His Holy Spirit to allow you to learn from the past and if it's time to leave it behind bury it and let it lie dormant. Stop digging it up and trying to give it life. The past is fixed...It can't be changed and the Bible tells us in Isaiah 43:18 "Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old". If God wants to do a new thing in your life get on with it! Don't dwell in the past...just learn from it!
7/18/2016: "Make no mistake about it! A man or woman will gather no moss if they roll no stones towards the mossy areas. Furthermore, a man or a woman will reap what they sow"! You may not see whats commin up from your planting at first, but be sure ...You will get your just desserts! You'll receive the rewards of your work whether good or bad so folks... sow responsibly; be a do-gooder and enjoy your plantings instead of receiving the negative consequences of bad seed sowing that will make you cringe and set your teeth on edge and cause your heart to fail!
7/11/2016: "Make a point to walk with a clear conscience before God and man and you shall have peace". Job 27:6 states; "My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live". It's a wonderful thing folks when your conscience is cleared from all offense. In this state you can be transparent because there's nothing to keep hidden and when you have nothing to hide and you're heart does not condemn you...you are guiltless and free of any unrighteousness and if you're holding fast to that righteousness that comes from God you'll suffer no reproach within your own heart. What a wonderful state of peaceful guiltless bliss to walk !
7/4/2016: " Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty"! Indeed!!! We all need true liberty so get it while the getting is good and get it all in Christ with His Spirit! There's just nothing like being truly FREE in mind, soul body and in Christ's Spirit!
6/27/2016: "Philippians 4:4 encourages us "Rejoice in the Lord alway and again I say rejoice" Yes indeedie, in all ways and always "REJOICE IN THE LORD"! Of course that's not possible if you're not in Christ and if you're not rejoicing difficulties could possibly be more difficult in difficult situations. Christians who follow and are in Christ rejoice in the hope of the "Good News Gospel of Jesus Christ" even when they are in the midst of trying troubling situations because they know that their present troubles can not compare to the glory which can be revealed in them according to Romans 8:18. No matter their situation they always have the hope of Christ living within them and the hope of overcoming the difficult obstacles of life and being glorified with Him. Glory to God!!! REJOICE in the hope you have in Christ! He will never leave you nor forsake you when He is living and alive within! You'll always be assured of victory in Jesus your Savior, Restorer, Redeemer and a bazillion other wonderful and wonder-filled things to be found in Christ and Christ in you!!!
6/20/2016: "In the day of prosperity there is a forgetfulness of affliction: and in the day of affliction is no more remembrance of prosperity". That's the Word of the Lord God from Ecclesiastes 11:25. How true! How true!!! When your soul is prospering and you're happy you don't consider those times when you were afflicted and while you're suffering affliction it doesn't seem remembering the prosperous times is easy. However, I say to you...if you are having a difficult time and your afflicted that's exactly when you should put yourself in remembrance of all the good things God has done for you and the times you have prospered and be reminded of His love and kindnesses and soon and very soon you'll be rejoicing and prospering in your soul once again and you won't be thinking of the affliction! So then dear ones think on things above and not below and prosper!
6/13/2016: "My goodness"! Think about it! How good is your goodness? Is it as good as God's? It's sure that God had goodness and is good to man! "Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men"! That's Psalm 107:8. Oh that we could be more God-like and as good to ourselves and to others as He is to us. Just take a gaze at all the beauty God has surrounded you with and think about all the wonderful things He has done for you and you'll want to be gooder than you are to yourself and others no matter how good you are already. My goodness; my own personal goodness can always get gooder as I draw closer to God and work at being more like Him!
6/6/2016: "Make hay while the sun shines" Now I'm not a sayin you should get the seed out and plant unless you're that type of farmer; but I am trying to get the point across that there are times that are ripe for the right things to be done. They are times of great opportunity and you certainly do not want to miss opportunity! Ephesians 5:16 tells us to make the best of our time and that's wise. Consider your time and opportunities presenting themselves to you and make wise choices to do what can be done while the sun is shinning and you have opportunity. Rain might be right around the corner and stand in the way of what you could have gotten done while the sun was a shinnin!
5/29/2016: "It's all in a day's work"! Now there's a say we hear said quite often. But what are we referring to? All does not mean everything here since any reasoning personage could and would reason you can't fit everything or all your work in just one singular day. It's entirely impossible to do everything or all in a day! If you tried, you'd be frazzled! God blessed us with time and He expects us to manage it wisely. Time management is important! Psalm 90:12 encourages us "Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom". Wisely consider that our number of days are limited, yet God always gives us enough time to do what is important and what we really need to get done. Therefore don't try to cram all and everything into one day and don't miss doing what you should do neither either! Seek the Lord God and the guidance of His Holy Spirit and everything will be accomplished in proper timing.
5/23/2016: "Never say never? Not in a bazillion years"! There are things you should say never to! Like what if someone asks you to stick your wet sticky tongue on a below zero frozen pole? Big foot once convinced me if you do it in the early spring it tastes just like cookies. Let me tell ya; I should have said NEVER! I was stuck there for hours before the little wifie came with hot water and loosed my numb tongue from that pole. NEVER I say!SAY NEVER when NEVER should be said!!! Remember there is a time and a season for everything! Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us so...SO there are times to say NEVER and mean it and stick to your convictions!!!
5/16/2016: What are the odds?Let's face it folks;Does it matter? If you're betting on the odds no matter how 50million or more to one they might be you could still be the one out of the 50mill or more to defy the odds! Always go with the sure thing and forget the odds! Make sure you know what the sure thing is! Look at Abraham and Sarah; What were the odds he and his elder wife would have a child in their old age? Let's face it folks:In the natural it was nil, but they had faith and the promise of Father God and so they beat the odds and had their child! Don't speculate, guesstimate or ponder over the chancy odds!Have faith in God!
5/9/2016: People are always asking me for definitions. This week I was asked to define the characteristics of one who is purposely stubbornly spiritually blind. Simple... The purposely stubbornly spiritually blind are those who are stuck in their own pride. They keep making the same choices over and over again and again even though it's not working for them. My little wifie, Hortense, the walking descriptive dictionary, describes them as foolishly slow, simplemindidly, half witted, thickheaded, senseless, harebrained, nutty, batty, half, baked, dimwitted, cockeyed , lame-brained, loony, dull witted mutton-heads who refuse to own up to the truth, but just keep lying to themselves. They keep making the same mistakes and even though it's not working for them, and they sense something's out of order they keep up with it. Problem with that is my saying of the week. "You can make the same mistake twice but by the third time it's no longer a mistake it's your choice that makes you purposely stubbornly spiritually blind".
5/2/2016: "Pressured? Release it correctly"! It's a delicate matter to discuss, however, I'm sure you'll agree the comparison I am about to make illustrates my point. Have you ever had a bodily mighty gas pocket demanding an exit and tried to put it off and hold it in? Happened to me once in a crowded elevator. I guarantee if you don't take care of it as soon as possible it will blow! I did my best to press the button and get off at the next floor, however... Well, I'm sure I don't have to explain what happened. I despise having to admit I felt the pressure building before I ever boarded the elevator. Had I wisely opted to get alone with God (because he never leaves nor forsakes me) find a private place and release the pressure before entering the lift, I would have spared myself an embarrassing moment and an entire Dr. and Mrs. They episode that was dedicated to my mishap. Several other people would also been saved from an unpleasant memorable moment and from talking about me for the rest of their lives. Point is; lots of us allow all sorts of pressures to build and try to hold them in when we should just seek the way and the place to let them go. If that's happening with you, just let me remind you. You can go to a private place with God and let Him help take all the pressures away. Remember I Corinthians 10:13 "There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it". So, if you're pressured simply go to God and He will help you find the place to release it correctly!
4/25/2016: "Don't be foolish"! Question... Whose the greater fool? The one who is the lead fool or one of the foolish ones who follows the fool? The fool is one who has willfully made the bad decision not to follow the way of the wise. Remember Proverbs 13:20 " He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. So then, whether you're the original fool or the follower of a fool matters not; both the leader and those being led end up in the same place. Be wise and follow the wise!
4/18/2016: "Listen"! Let's face it if you don't have your ear portals open you won't hear anything. Truly truly I say onto you just as Jesus did. Twenty five times in the New Testament Jesus began His speeches with this . He wanted us to tune in so we would hear and perceive , believe and do what is necessary for us to experience life in it's finest and fullest forms! Jesus spoke with absolute truth and authority to instruct man and womankind in the way they should go sooooo folks... open those ears both natural and spiritual and "Listen"! The Lord God is always speaking through Holy Bible scriptures as well as natural circumstances and trying to speak to your heart too so you can get direction and go in the right ways! "Listen"! And furthermore...DO!
4/11/2016: "Some things are possible;some are only probable. Do only what is possible and probable and you just might miss what everyone else thinks is impossible". Remember...With God, if it's in His perfect will and wise; all thing are possible and nothing is impossible.
4/4/2016: "To be successful in this life you will need 3 bones"!A really strong backbone; a really healthy funny-bone and a bone to throw to dog". This people is wisdom! Consider the strength you'll need in this life both natural and spiritual, which is why you'll need a really strong backbone! You can't possibly make it through life without a funny bone. You don't want to go through life with out laughter! Both of these fore mentioned bones come from your Father God. They are gifts...Thank Him for them! Then alas you'll need that doggie bone, This too is wisdom. Think about it. If you're ever being chased by a Fido or Fidella and they're hot on your heels...Throw the bone and run in the opposite direction.
3/28/2016: "Celebrate Life"! The best way to do that is to celebrate what is worthy of celebration! Like the resurrection cross of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!! A blessed and happy Easter celebration of the greatest gift ever bestowed upon mankind; the obedience of Jesus to the give Himself for us on the cross!!!!! Celebrate Him! Celebrate true life!
3/21/2016: "Think"! Uh-huh... Use that noggin God gave you and don't act before you process what you're about to do through that gray matter and process it properly! II Corinthians 10:3-5 speaks about bringing every thought into obedience to Christ. In this way we destroy speculations and every lofty thing that tries to raise itself up against the knowledge of God; like our own limited flesh. If we're opposed in our thinking to God's knowledge we're sure to miss out on something important somewhere so...process those thoughts lined up with the Word of God and following actions will be to your benefit!
3/14/2016: "Trial and error are available so you can learn what you try may be full of error". This is a basic point of fact I taught to the student body at "They University". Trial is a healthy exercise, but when you've tried and tried and the consequences are not producing favorably and in fact they're hurting and harming you, it's time to find out if your trials are worth the time and effort. There's a theme that threads through scripture which involves being responsible, faultless and accountable. We're human so working out the kinks of the flesh takes trial and error, but and however truth seekers; If we seek genuine truth from the most worthy source, God Himself, we'll be bound to less error because we have truth to keep us from unnecessary trials. Therefore, we'll have less error and also less trials that need to be tried. So do as Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
3/7/2016: One of the first fundamental taught at "They University" is "It makes no sense to say senseless says" Like never even think about saying a say unless it has truth, depth, dimension and really has meaning that's meant to be meant! Think about scripture. Every single word is perfectly knit together with pure and perfect truth and meaning and this is how all of our says should be...pure, perfect, and full of truth and meaning.
2/29/2016: Proverbs 23:7 might be an excellent scripture to meditate upon before and after reading the following. "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he" indeed "You are who you think you are". You know it's true... Who else would you be? OK, I admit it some people actually aren't who they think they are. They're somebody else but they don't know it But as long as you know who you think you are and think that is who you are, at least in your own mind, that's who you'll be. Please don't confuse this with "I think therefore I am" because you might only think you are and not really be.
2/22/2016:There's a whole lot of pressure in having to come up with a new say every week. Saying says can be chancie. There's risk involved . You can always say something you don't really mean , be misunderstood or have regrets for what you've said and so on and so on ... So... I got to pondering over Psalm 19:14. " Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer". Therefore I decided to say before I say any more says "Psalm 19:14 is an excellent prayer to pray"! In fact so excellent that I'm going to pray it for myself right now, because if the meditation of my heart and the words of my mouth are acceptable in the sight of the Lord I won't need to be the least bit concerned about about anything I say and neither will you.
2/15/2016:There was a celebration this past week sounding the trumpets of love. That special "Valentines Day" is dedicated specially to the one you love most dearly on the face of the earth. Ya know, like your hubby or wifie. It's a day set aside for sweethearts to acknowledge their love for one another. Say, I say;"SHOW AND TELL"! " Who did you say "I Love You" to? Did you say it with full expression of the depths of love by showing and telling them? Let's remember love demands expression, and while you're thinking about that. Think about the expressions of love God shows you every day and then show them to your loved ones. You know what I John 4:12 says "If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us". Spread some genuine love today!
2/8/2016: As former founder and top Professor of "They University" I was often asked to have a word for the wise. Well I've been pondering over that one. The wise know where to get their words. They go straight to the Holy Word of God to get wisdom and make them wiser still. So today I have a word for the unwise who desire to become wise. "Go directly to the Creator and gather His wisdom; on your knees before His Great Throne of Grace in prayer and fellowship with Him, and ponder through The Holy Scriptures daily! "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally freely and without reproach and it shall be given to him" James 1:5.
2/1/2016: Proverbs 7 verse tells us "wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding". You might think that's a simple thing, however, in actuality it takes some hard work, diligent study, keen observations and pressing your brain into researching fine quality proven truths. The Bible of course is my main source. Some people learn things the hard way; ya know, trial and error. Each of us is allowed those lessons to some degree but we can get wisdom from the Holy Scriptures that will help us avoid trying some things that will cause us to err. Using the proper tools for the proper use is wise. For example, You'd never consider using a chain saw to shave would you? Course not; I hope! So why would you consider using improper source material to get wisdom when you know it's all right there in between the pages of the Holy Bible?
1/25/2016: As I've been pondering all the week long as to what I should say, I decided to say "Be sure God wants to call you His friend". So how does one become and be a friend of God you ask? The answer is to love Him, listen to Him, spend time with Him, respect Him and do His will. That's just some of what makes Our Heavenly Lord God want to be friendly and friends with us. James 2:23 talks about Abraham being a friend of God because he believed what God said. When we get to know Him we can believe Him too and become friends! The closer we get to Him the better friends we'll be; and there's no friend more wonderful than God! Faithful, true, loving, caring, strong, gentle, kind, amazing, wonderful, and, well, you'll just have to find out the rest by making friends with God.
1/18/2016: "Never ever look behind you! Unless you hear the still small voice of God telling you to do so. Then of course there would be a necessity to do so. Like maybe you have a rip in your pants and then of course you'll need to change or if your a farmer furloughing a field you want to make straight rows and if you look back you know what's gonna happen. Anyway, most of the time looking behind you will keep you from looking ahead of yourself. If you look behind you're liable to fumble a footstep, go off in the wrong direction or trip over and obstacle you didn't know was there in the way. It's best to leave what is behind right there... behind, if you're going somewhere and determined to move forward. Stopping to look behind you can also take time from getting where you want to get to on time too! Best to keep your eyes focused forward and keep on movin along! Remember Jesus taught the principle in Luke 9:62: saying, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
1/11/2016: "Pay attention"! Cuz like I'm a tellin ya, iffin ya don't, you'll most probably miss out on a lot. I missed out on owning a wholesale closeout lot of camels once just because I wasn't paying attention. Mine attentions were fixed on the sloths being liquidated and America's largest bulk wholesale closeout liquidator wasn't standing around waiting for me to put my bid in on his lot of camels. Gone with a quicker sharper , paying attention bidder, I was never able to get my hands on those camels and sell them to that wealthy Circus owner over in the next county. Drat I say... Oh drat! A camel lost is a bail of hay that won't be ending up in my retirement fund.
1/4/2016: "Sometimes you can't do better than round". Consider the wheel... It rolls well because it's made to perfection. That is trusting it's not running out of tread and isn't ready to blow. Well. I'm not round, not ready to blow and I've still got plenty of tread, so I'm off and ready to roll with the New Year! Say... What-da-ya say? Say you'll follow what I, Dr. Thaddeus T. They, will have to say this year! Tune in weekly; I've got a lodda saying ta do and I'll share my wise sayings with you!
